Prestwood Nature

Prestwood Nature has a wide remit to help appreciate and care for our natural environment.  It is  the Nature Conservation Group for the area around Prestwood, including Great & Little Kingshill,  Great & Little Missenden,  Hampden, Speen, Hughenden Valley and Cryers Hill

Prestwood Nature aims to protect and enhance the quality of the natural environment through the involvement of local residents.

Activities include:

Conservation work, conduct of ecological surveys, advice to households and landowners, field trips, activities for children and their families.

On-going projects in Prestwood include:

Sheepwash pond in Prestwood – an ancient pond on the old Prestwood Commons, Honor End Lane, that was used as a watering place for animals on their way to market has been restored.

Wildlife Garden and Orchard in Prestwood – on the site of the Prestwood allotments, off Greenlands Lane, we have planted a wildlife garden which provides a wonderful place to relax in spring and summer.
