The youth awards are for the young people of Chiltern District (any young person under 18 who lives, learns, or contributes to community life in Chiltern District), celebrating their achievements and recognising the contribution they make to our communities. The deadline for nominations is Friday 1st February 2019.   If you know of anyone to nominate, this is an excellent opportunity to support them so please read on.

Awards are made for the following categories:

Arts award, Environmental award, Group award, Sports and Healthy Lifestyle award, Volunteer award, Young carers award, Young entrepreneur award.

Award category

Description

Arts award

A young person who has enriched the cultural life of the Chiltern District. They may have set up or run an arts group or organised an event. Includes performing arts, visual arts, music and dance.

Environmental award

An individual or group which has started an innovative environmental/eco-friendly project to promote a greater awareness and understanding of conservation and environmental matters.

Group

A group (school, uniformed or youth) which has voluntarily contributed skills and time to the benefit of a Chiltern community.

Sports and Healthy Lifestyle award

Open to an individual, school or a young person’s organisation which has promoted healthy lifestyles, physical activity or positive mental health.  The nominee may have shown determination to achieve in their sport or made an exceptional positive contribution to a sport.

Volunteer award

A young person who works tirelessly in their community as an individual, in the voluntary sector, for a community group or in a public service that devotes time to others.

Young carers award

This award recognises the contribution made by young carers and the support they provide to family members in need of special care.

Young entrepreneur award

A young person or group of young people who have demonstrated business initiative in the Chiltern District.
