Open Space & Recreational Strategy 2014-17

Invitation to provide feedback

IMPORTANT UPDATE 28 April:  The deadline for comment on this is Friday 2 May – all Prestwood community organisations should read through the document and update CDC on their status within the current draft and input their aspirations for the future.

Chiltern District Council is refreshing its 2014–2017 Open Space and Recreational Strategy. The document’s purpose is to bring together community organisations and develop a co-ordinated approach to managing recreational facilities and open space provision, identifying any shortfalls.  The scope of the strategy is:

  • community / village halls
  • leisure centres / swimming pools
  • synthetic turf pitches
  • amenity open space (twenty hectares and below)
  • parks, playing pitches
  • informal youth / play facilities
  • allotments.

CDC says that the refreshed strategy has been updated following consultation with key community organisations including Town/Parish Councils, sports clubs, schools and local community groups.

Please could you check through the document, OSS – with Appendices Feb 14 (either relating to your club facilities or local facilities you know about), feeding back any comments as to its accuracy and findings by Friday 2nd May, 2014, email to .

If there have any been additional developments not captured in Appendix 1, please let Paul Nanji, Principal Leisure & Community Officer, Chiltern District Council have the Location  / Development / Date Completed / Club Name, again at the email address above.

In response to your feedback, once completed, Paul Nanji will send you a copy of the updated strategy later this year.  He looks forward to receiving your feedback and comments.
