Great Missenden Library and Prevention Matters

Great Missenden Library and the Prevention Matters teams are hosting a series of community events covering physical ,mental and community safety themes for local residents. One of the aims is to raise awareness of the different services that are available to residents within their community so that they can continue to live independently in own homes for as long as possible.  These drop in events will be held on the following dates listed below between 11am – 4pm on all dates (Download poster from here):

Week onePhysical Health and Wellbeing – Tuesday 16th January including FREE NHS health checks and BP / glucose checks by Kinton pharmacy plus, stall holders: Prevention Matters, Oral health, Age Uk, Bucks Adult Learning, Simply Walk, Diabetes UK, MacMillian Cancer support) and more

Week two: Mental Health – Wednesday 24th January including a FREE Dementia Friends information session 11:30 – 12:30 / Tai chi taster session 2:30 – 3pm stall holders: Alzheimer’s society, Telecare, Bucks Mind, Community Counselling HP16, Prevention Matters and more

Week threeCommunity safety week  Friday 2nd Feb FREE Trading Standards Scams workshop  11:45 – 12:30 , stall holders:Legal advice, Fire & Rescue service, TVP, Chiltern District Community safety team, Prevention Matters  and more

Please support us by raising awareness of these series of events by:-

  • Sharing the attached flyer
  • Printing off the flyer and posting on noticeboards
