Home Guard outside village HallThe Prestwood Archive website was launched in September 2013. It is designed to feature images, documents and articles that cover the period 1900 to the present day about Prestwood, the surrounding area and those that live/ lived here.

A lot of work has been going on in the background since the last update and we are currently populating the image gallery for 1941-1960.  Please take a look, a shortcut to the relevant location on the site is here: http://prestwoodarchive.org.uk/1941to1960/

  1. Home Guard photo a good memory. My father just to the right of centre second row down The only one with glasses. Was owner of Cross Roads Garage 1931 up to selling to Richard Yates in 1961.. Earlier it was a billet at RAF Halton then moved after the 1st War and became the Village Hall. Became a garage when the new hall was built. In the early 30’s he also owned the corner shop Hope that you find this interesting.
