Sainsbury’s for Prestwood

Chiltern District Council has approved the development of the former Farm-to-Freezer premises into a Sainsbury’s convenience store. See:

the planning history for the premises and the licence permitting Sainsbury’s to sell alcohol.

Work has started on developing the site, including the conversion of the offices above into flats.

Additional planning applications for signage and for a pitched roof have been applied for: CH2013/0618/FA

A further application to change the number of flats from 2 to 4  above the premises has been submitted and approved, subject to conditions. The impact on car parking has been assessed to be acceptable by CDC; details are in this document  pages 3-11.

Many residents were concerned from the outset about the impacts of the development on other businesses (especially the Post Office), car parking, and noise, particularly when the development of residential accommodation above the store was later approved.
