As an Independent First Aid Trainer, I operate mainly in Buckinghamshire, but I am willing to travel further afield. My previous full-time employment was both as school nurse and teacher in an independent school for 25 years.
This experience has further enabled me to:
• Understand the health needs of children
• Give appropriate care for individual health needs
• Give appropriate First Aid when required
• Teach First Aid to both the children and adults
My other experience includes being a Childminder, Lead Supervisor in two Early Years settings, coordinator of a Nurse and First Aid team, Tutor of ‘Under 5s’ courses for adults, the teaching of First Aid and Health Issues abroad (sometimes through an interpreter), conference speaking and giving short talks on First Aid and Health.
As a volunteer for the British Red Cross for many years, I organised both youth and junior groups (ages 5-18yrs). I also provided First Aid training for members of the public. I am frequently asked to provide First Aid training for other voluntary organisations. The method I use in my teaching is to provide activities which incorporate auditory, visual and kinaesthetic styles of learning, and increase confidence.
I am approved by Qualsafe Awards, an Awarding Organisation recognised by Ofqual to offer regulated qualifications.
For further information about the courses I deliver can be obtained from my website.
