Dear Chequers Folk folk…
Hopefully we are heading towards ‘re-union Jan’ when we will, at last, welcome Union Jill (pictured above) to Chequers Folk. They were originally booked for March 2020 and so have been very patient for the past 2 years. They are a great duo of storytelling singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musicians and will be travelling from Yorkshire to the lovely Cherry Tree Barn. We are so pleased that restrictions are such that they are able to travel (not quite so far as those wise men we read about at this time of year, but still quite a journey!) and also that we are able to meet for an evening of live music.
The Wick Trimmers will be adding our usual seasonal seasoning with references to the beautiful sights in the local woods on these bright, cold mornings, contrasted with the context of the post-Christmas climatic conditions of the stories around epiphany and the long journey of those wise men who, many believe, also arrived around 2 years after the event…!).
We really want to keep everyone as safe as possible and therefore are asking that you complete a negative lateral flow test on the day and wear a mask until you are seated. We know you are a talented bunch but even so, it would be tricky to drink with your mask on!
So we do look forward to seeing you next week. Entry is just £10 on the door.
