A lovely piece of Prestwood history that has found its way home
A local resident has written us about this small silver cup which was purchased a few years ago on the internet from the north of England.
It was presented in 1932 for the best Shetland pony stallion at the Prestwood horse show. These shows at the time were believed to have taken place in Moat Lane just opposite the thatched cottage , but I stand to be corrected. There are records relating to these events in the county archives from most years from the late twenties to the late thirties. But 1932 is missing.
It would nice for the record if any one had any idea who was the recipient of this attractive little cup in that particular year. Please contact gordoncasbeard@hotmail.co.uk .
I used to live on the site described and my Dad said that the Presrwood Show was indeed held there. He also claimed that it was one of the best of its kind which makes it all the more strange that so little record remains of it.
