Dear Chequers Folk folk…
The 18th of June is really quite soon
There’ll be music, refreshments and fun.
We’ve been busy preparing, rehearsing each tune
So that’s good news for everyone.
Clive and Sue Carey play with us rarely
But it’s always special when they do,
And Peter and Linda make our band just completer,
They’ll be playing as a duo too.
With stories of things lost, not a mandolin this time,
But ‘music for a found harmonium’,
We’ll raise a glass of ale or wine,
May reviews never say it was pandemonium!
We’ll be sharing some tunes from our local scene –
Barley View, Sheepwash, Traveller’s Rest.
We’ve not yet found the Fiddler’s Green
But we’re sure when we do, we’ll be blessed.
All we need now is a wonderful crowd
To join in the songs, old and new.
There’ll be no charge to enter but donations allowed,
Do come to the barn and join the queue!
