Website Clean Up
Following an initial announcement in August of last year we have been through the newsletter subscriber list on the site and cut around 150 people from the subscriber list. These email addresses have also been permanently deleted from the site in accordance with the principles of GDPR. With immediate effect we are turning on a feature which will automatically stop sending newsletters to people that are not opening them after 6 months.
Stopping Spam
One of the reasons for this action is service providers monitor emails entering their systems and are generally aware of high volume emails. If there are too many bouncebacks, (a bounceback is when the email box is full, no longer valid or some other problem), there is a risk that further emails from xxx@prestwoodva.org.uk will be blocked by the service provider. This is because it is quite difficult to distinguish spam from legitimate emails. Service providers (BT, Virgin Media, Plusnet, Talk Talk etc), are all keen to reduce spam so they often take measures like this.
I no longer receive newsletters from PVA
If you have stopped receiving newsletters from PVA, then it is quite possible that you email was removed during the process. The system is automatic and determines whether someone is active or not based on whether they opened the email or not. If you have been removed from our mailing list and this was not your intention, we apologise and ask you to sign up again by going to here: Sign up to PVA Newsletters
