The following planning applications have been made recently.
PL/24/0423/SA Proposed Path at Prestwood Recreation Ground, Gryms Dyke, Prestwood,
The parish council have a project to install a new path around the perimeter of Prestwood
Recreation Ground. Prestwood Recreation Ground is a large green open space which is
owned by Bucks Council, but is under a lease agreement with Great Missenden Parish
Council for 30 years (the lease was signed in 2023). The parish council own the adjacent
open space, Prestwood Common, and in 2020 installed a similar track around the perimeter.
This track has been well received by the community and has seen an increase in users of the
Common especially during the winter months. It has also made supporting the local junior
football club more accessible. In a recent survey of residents’ a similar path around
Prestwood Recreation Ground was the most requested improvement for the area.
PL/24/0343/SA Certificate of lawfulness for proposed multi-play unit measuring 8m x 6m x 4m situated adjacent to the existing play area at Gryms Dyke.

I agree that adult exercise equipment would be an asset the same as they have at Amersham. I have mentioned this more than once on this site after all not everyone is interested in going to a sports centre.
The new play equipment has doubled the amount of children using the existing play area which is great for families. However, the vast increase in noise has greatly impacted those living nearest to the play ground.
It is wrong that those closest to the park weren’t consulted regarding the impact of increased usage of the playground as the loud noise hampers enjoyment of their gardens.
I support the installation of a path around the recreation ground in Prestwood. The path around the common has been of great benefit, especially during COVID-19. I often use it and see many others, especially older people and families. It would be useful if the distance around the common or recreation ground could be put on a nearby notice so that those exercising for health (e.g. couch to 5 km) can gauge what distance they have done. Eventually, I would like to see some adult exercise equipment (fitness course) to encourage healthy exercise in the area. See Cowley Marsh in Oxford for suggestions.
I totally agree with Bronwyn Corrall.
