Dear Chequers Folk folk….
A date for your diaries we hope you’ll remember,
Yes, Chequers Folk is back on the 18th September
And we’re sure you’ll enjoy the guests we’ve chosen:
On fiddle and ‘cello, it’s Pete Cooper & Richard Bolton.
Both trad and innovative for nearly 25 years,
There’ll be songs from the new album that we’ll get to hear;
It’s called ‘Burning Bright’ and it’s wonderfully eclectic,
Contemporary, acoustic folk – definitely not electric!
The venue is the beautiful Cherry Tree Farm barn
With its gnarled old beams and its rustic charm.
It’s an 8pm start to the evening we’ve planned
With a set from The Wick Trimmers, our resident band.
Our host (thank you, John) will serve Rebellion Ale
And no doubt, Pete & Richard’s CDs will be on sale.
So come and experience the joy of music that’s live
