Good News from the Chesham Town Hall Vaccination Centre
From Dr Clare Gabe at Amersham Health Centre, sent on January 12th.
We have been informed that we will receive more Pfizer Covid vaccine on Monday 18th January. We are therefore running vaccination clinics from Chesham Town Hall to offer vaccinations to all our patients age over 80 from Monday afternoon through to Thursday
This is fantastic news and we strongly encourage all our patients to respond to the text invites or call the surgery to book an appointment
We will still receive the AstraZeneca vaccine at the end of the week on Thursday 21st January but this is to be prioritised for care homes and housebound patients and carers. We encourage our patients to come to the Chesham Town Hall clinics as a more local option than travelling to Stevenage to the mass vaccination centre. We are thrilled to be able to offer the vaccine to all our patients age over 80
I can assure you that with my fantastic team we are working tirelessly to ensure safe & effective delivery of the vaccine.
With thanks, Dr Gabe
This has come from Hughenden/Chequers Surgery Patient Participation Group.
We have had excellent feedback from our Patients who have had their vaccination at the Chesham Town Hall from 6 – 9 January.
Easy parking right outside the Chesham Town Hall, High Street, Chesham. HP5 1DS . Take change with you – 50p for half an hour, 70p for an hour or pay by card.
You are greeted by two friendly volunteers who ask you a few questions. You are guided to the registration desk just inside the Hall where you are booked in.
You are then sent to one of the vaccination booths where a member of the G.P team, discusses the vaccine, asks consent, then gives you your Covid 19 vaccination, information leaflets and a ticket telling you the time to leave.
You then take one of the seats in the Hall, 2 metres apart to wait the 15 minutes before departure.
When your time comes to leave, you leave by the door in the corner of the Hall.
One comment was : A friendly, no fuss, no wait service which was excellently organized. Well done.
Having seen some scenes of disorganized vaccination queues in some parts of the country, the PPG felt Patients would be reassured by information and feedback from our Surgery Patients.

I shouldn’t be surprised at the efficiency and professionalism shown by staff at the Chesham Town Hall vaccination centre, but yet again, the NHS and volunteers exceeded expectations. Thank you for your organisation and delivery of this superb service.
Congratulations to all who organised the Chesham vaccination Centre. A very friendly, efficient service from start to finish, on Friday, 8th January, 2021. The NHS at its best.
I thought that we were asked not to call the. surgery, or am I waiting for a call that will never come?
We were vaccinated last week at Chesham Town Hall and I absolutely agree about the brilliant system there. It couldn’t have been better.
