Last weekend the Prestwood Litter Picking event finally went ahead. It had been a while since the last one in October. It’s been good to see the regular litter pickers out and about throughout lock down, but last weekend saw around 50 people come out to support giving Prestwood a slightly belated spring clean!
We saw lots of the usual faces, but it was lovely to see a good number from Prestwood Primary School, also Duke of Edinburgh award students from Chiltern Hills Academy and from The Misbourne and Berkhamsted earning credit towards their volunteering work.
We had all sorts as you can imagine, including being able to collect some fly tipped waste from around the village including a TV in the Sheepwash, a BBQ from Hotley Bottom Lane and a set of tyres from Wrights Lane!
All in all, it was a very successful event which was made all the better by volunteers receiving a voucher for a free drink from The Pantry @51 for their hard work.
