Editors note: The title on this post was incorrectly given the name Green Lane, and not Greenlands Lane. This was corrected on the 26/05/21
We have been passed the following from Catherine Bunting, it is also being distributed around parts of Prestwood as a flyer. It refers to this planning applications listed elsewhere on the website: 13 dwellings on Greenlands Lane
Dear Prestwood Resident
I’m writing to you to as you may or not be aware of a proposed residential development scheme on Greenlands Lane. The outline planning application is for 12 new homes, and conversion of a stable block into a home on Greenbelt Land.
I was recently elected to the Parish Council, and stood for the Green Party. Green Party core beliefs are social equality and protection of our environment. As such, I’m keen to draw your attention to this matter, to ensure that if you wish to object you’re able to do so.
Plans for this proposed development can be viewed on pa.chilternandsouthbucks.gov.uk using reference PL/21/1676/OA . You are able lodge an objection against this development and this should submitted on line by 11th June 2021.
Relevant objections against this application which would hold validity with current planning legislation are:
- Principle of the development Green Belt – The site is not previously developed land. The development will have a much greater impact on the Green Belt than the existing structures and use. No very special circumstances are present that would get close to outweighing the harm of the proposal.
- AONB – Not been considered in any detail by the applicants. Landscape impact likely to be significant, given the site is located adjacent to the settlement – will lead to a ‘blurring’ of the defined settlement boundary
- Ecology – any evidence that the site is used by protected species would be useful. Whilst this is anecdotal and will be treated as such it casts doubt on their initial ecological work.
- Trees – A 15m buffer to the ancient woodland should be provided. They have failed to show the buffer and as such it is doubtful that the development can physically fit on the site.
If you feel strongly about this proposed development, it is important that you do your own research, and that you word your objection yourself, being factual, and not focussing on matters regarding the effect on your house price, noise and disruption etc, as these are unlikely to be considered by the planning department.
There are many objections already for this application, including those from The Chilterns Conservation Board, and Campaign for Rural England, however, if you feel that our Greenbelt and AONB should be protected, please also take action whilst it is possible to do so.
If you require help in lodging an objection, or wish to discuss this matter, the Prestwood Village Association has a designated email address which is greenlands@prestwoodva.org.uk
Kind regards
Catherine Bunting
Please note that Prestwood Village Association is neutral on this planning application, however we do wish to facilitate the community having a voice on the matter, and have provided this email address: greenlands@prestwoodva.org.uk if you wish to make yourself known to Catherine, please send a message.
PVA Editor: As there have been several comments about the effective date in the letter from Catherine, the following is on the Bucks Council website. Which can also be located here: https://pa.chilternandsouthbucks.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=dates&keyVal=QS0WG5ESKGY00

Please correct the date error. If you wish to comment the cutoff date is the 3rd, anything submitted after that date will effectively be ignored,
Hello Malcolm
Residents have 21 days from the Posted Site Notice (this being May 20th) in which to make objections. This date is therefore June 11th. I understand that this information is not easy to find, and can cause confusion, and hence providing further information to Prestwood residents in the letter. That said, objections received prior to the 3rd June will obviously be in plenty of time.
The Council stated that objections to this application need to be made by 3 June and not 11 June as stated in your article.
Hello Hilary
The dates on the Bucks County website have caused confusion for several people. Hence sending out a letter to signpost the process should residents wish to object. I can confirm that 11th June is the correct date.
