Share your views and help us keep Buckinghamshire safe
The Safer Buckinghamshire Board is a local Community Safety Partnership that brings together experts from the police, fire service, probation, health and social care services. The Board develops an annual action plan to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in Buckinghamshire and to help keep it a safe place to live and work.

2025 Safer Buckinghamshire survey – Your Voice Bucks – Citizen Space
The survey is open to anyone living, studying, or working in Buckinghamshire and will be open until 3 October. The results of the survey will be combined with an analysis of all crimes that happen in the county, to help the Safer Buckinghamshire Partnership deliver the priorities for the next 12 months.
Community Engagement
Our Community Safety team are regularly out across the county engaging with the local community by attending crime prevention events and talks, refreshing local schemes and initiatives, such as Safe Places, carrying out joint patrols with Thames Valley Police and much more!
During September and October, we will be attending numerous Freshers Fairs at Buckinghamshire Colleges and Universities, to provide crime prevention and personal safety advice to new students. We’ll be encouraging the use of personal safety apps and the use of schemes, such as Ask for Angela.
Keep a look out for upcoming Community Action Days. Our team will be on hand, along with partner agencies, to help tackle your Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) concerns.

Street Wardens update
We are pleased to welcome our new Street Warden, Daniel Jeyachandrarajah to the team. Daniel joined us on 22 July 2025 and will be patrolling Aylesbury town centre.

The High Wycombe Street Wardens have recently worked in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council’s Waste Management and Parking Services team to clear a hazardous car park on Desborough Street.
Our team engaged with individuals sleeping in two abandoned vehicles and signposted them to support services, who are now assisting them with accommodation.
The Waste team arranged for the removal of the vehicles, a large amount of fly-tipping and drugs paraphernalia.
The Parking Services team are now finalising reinstatement of the parking spaces and ongoing cleansing of the location.

Safer Streets
As part of the Summer Safer Streets Campaign, the Community Safety team have been leading and coordinating activity with Thames Valley Police, and other council services to make our town centres safer.
Parking Enforcement, Waste Enforcement, Street Wardens, Anti-Social Behaviour officers, Community Safety officers, Licensing and Trading Standards have been undertaking joint patrols throughout every week from the start of July in Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Chesham and other town centres.
Over 766 hours of patrols have been undertaken; 88 joint patrols with council teams and services
Over 35 penalty notices issued for parking and littering
Over 50 notices issued to street drinkers
Hundreds of residents and businesses spoken with
Additional activity has included e-scooters being seized, shoplifters arrested, safe place visits and signs ups, and information and crime prevention advice being given to residents.
Joint activity was initially planned until the end of September. However, given the success we have had so far, we are now looking to continue beyond that.

Domestic Abuse Training
Buckinghamshire Council’s fully funded multi-agency ‘Tackling and Preventing Domestic Abuse’ Training Catalogue has published its fourth offering for Buckinghamshire for 2025/26.
Over the last three years there have been over 1850 attendances at the training, and we’re keen to see this grow. The offer continues to be entirely free of charge to encourage as many individuals as possible to improve or refresh their knowledge around domestic abuse. It is not exclusively for professionals who work with vulnerable or at-risk audiences and instead offers anyone the chance to increase their confidence in identifying the signs of abuse and give appropriate support and signposting to victims.
We all have a part to play in recognising and calling out the signs of domestic abuse to protect those at risk and provide a safe environment for women and girls living, working, and visiting Buckinghamshire.
The new training offer runs from September 2025 to March 2026 and includes eight new topics for this year: being trauma informed, stalking and cyber stalking, post separation abuse, responding to disclosures, Buckinghamshire referral pathways, protective orders, mental health and suicide prevention, and understanding risk and managing safety.

Prevent Duty Training: Empowering You to Support Those Vulnerable to Radicalisation
Prevent is a key strand of the UK government’s counter-terrorism strategy, CONTEST. Its mission is to:
Challenge the ideological foundations of terrorism
Provide early support to individuals at risk of radicalisation
Help those already involved in terrorism to disengage and reintegrate
To support this mission, the government has developed tailored training courses for professionals working in sectors covered by the Prevent duty, including:
Education
Healthcare
Local government
Policing
Criminal justice (prisons, probation, youth justice).
That said, anyone – regardless of sector – can benefit from this training and is encouraged to take part.

How to identify and support individuals at risk of radicalisation
How to make informed and well-intentioned Prevent referrals
The types of interventions and support available
This training is a valuable resource for anyone who wants to play a part in safeguarding individuals and communities. By understanding the signs and knowing how to respond, we can all contribute to a safer society.
#BeAMate – Don’t Drink & Drown
Running throughout September, Royal Life Saving Society UK’s (RLSS) Don’t Drink and Drown campaign encourages individuals to take responsibility for their friends when under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, helping them to avoid dangerous routes by water and return home safely.
46% of accidental drownings of those aged between 18-25 involve alcohol and/or drugs in the last 6 years.
If you’re planning a night out this summer or heading to Freshers, plan ahead and ensure you have arranged a safe route home, away from water. Look out for one another, stay in your friendship group and make sure you all get home safely.
Anti-Slavery Day – Friday 18 October
Anti-Slavery Day is a vital opportunity to shine a light on the hidden crime of modern slavery and human trafficking. Shockingly, this exploitation is still happening across the UK – sometimes right on our street or in our neighbourhood. It’s a hidden crime, yet it’s happening in plain sight.
Modern slavery takes many forms. Victims may be forced into domestic work, manual labour, criminal activity, or sexual exploitation – often for little or no pay. Many are trafficked, living in fear and squalid conditions, under constant threat of violence and control.
You might be closer to modern slavery than you think.

Deter Trick or Treaters this Halloween
Halloween is a night of innocent fun for many youngsters, but for elderly and vulnerable residents having an unexpected caller can be distressing and frightening.
In preparation for Halloween, we have created a downloadable poster which you can display in your window to say that you do not welcome trick or treaters.

Fireworks safety
Over the next few months, we will see an increase in firework displays. If you are planning to hold a fireworks display in your garden, visit Bucks Fire & Rescue for guidance on how to do so safely.
Not everyone enjoys fireworks, and unexpected loud bangs can cause great distress to both animals and humans. Be considerate and inform your neighbours of your plans.
